Hiking
The Ruhpolding Valley offers a huge hiking area with all levels of difficulty and possibilities and a notably large number of beautiful and cultivated Alpine pastures. For example: Start with the chairlift directly from the farm and enjoy a wonderful view of the Chiemsee from the Unterberg, start your hike to the famous Hörndlwand to enjoy a hearty snack or a Kaiserschmarren at the Brandner Alm.
Biking
You can flawlessly explore the region by bike. Many developed cycling routes ensure unlimited pleasure. Passionate cyclists, e-bikers, families with children and ambitious mountain bikers will find an endless and varied network of routes in and around Ruhpolding. In Ruhpolding we have bike shops that are at your side with guidance and resources, just like us. A safe bicycle storage room at the farm is available to you.
Golf
The spacious 18-hole golf course in Ruhpolding is located in the middle of a picturesque mountain panorama in the middle of the Chiemgau Alps. But that's not all. Within a maximum of 60 minutes by car, you will find almost 40 other golf courses and paradisiacal conditions for passionate golfers.
Archery
No high-tech: Just yourself, the bow and the goal. Go back to the roots, to the original art of archery, focused on your goal and yourself.
Swimming
Did you know that the Ruhpolding Valley is also called "Little Canada"? And with good reason! There are numerous lakes and rivers with crystal clear water in the midst of a wonderful Alpine landscape. The Löden, Mitter and Weitsee lakes are just a few minutes' drive from the Unternberg Hof. They are considered to be the warmest Bavarian mountain lakes, probably also because of the favorable weather in Ruhpolding, and have excellent water quality. The whole area is under nature protection and has no commercial facilities. But the Ruhpolding outdoor pool or the wave pool also offer you ''wetter'' varieties.
Get Out in the Snow
The entrance to the Unterberg ski lift is right at the Unterberg Hof and we will of course provide you with the best possible: You can get your lift ticket or ski ticket at our reception without queuing at the lift desk and settle it with your room bill. Put your skis on at the farm and enjoy yourself without loosing time. A ski locker is available to you in your own ski room with direct access to the ski slope! It is best to contact us early for a ski course.
Cross-Country Skiing
Ruhpolding is the cross-country Mecca for everyone who has made Nordic skiing their passion. More than 130 km of trails of all levels of difficulty attract cross-country skiers and skaters from all over the world to Ruhpolding. The absolute highlight of the route network is the snow-sure lake trail, a sparkling cross-country diamond in the Chiemgau Alps. You can spend a veritable winter holiday in Ruhpolding with cross-country skiing alone.
Purest Culture
Are you looking for a cultural change? Not only Ruhpolding with its diverse museums but the entire Chiemgau offers you numerous excursion destinations in the vicinity. An excursion to the beautiful Chiemsee with Herrenchiemsee Castle or the Fraueninsel, the Königsee with the peninsula and St. Bartholomä Chapel, or let yourself be enchanted and inspired by the Mozart's city of Salzburg. Paragliding
The Ruhpolding region with the surrounding mountains is absolutely ideal for paragliding training. The basic and altitude training takes place here: It is only a few steps from the flight school to the fantastic practice slope. The official landing site of the local club, which is also used for altitude training, is also only a few meters away. The altitude training is carried out at the starting point of the nearby Unternberg.
Leisure & Fairy Tale Park
The leisure park and fairy tale park in Ruhpolding have been delighting visitors big and small for more than 50 years. Generations of families with children have already been enchanted by the fairy tale world in the fairy tale park.
